The Spring GENFI Participant Webinar – April 2025
We are excited to share our second GENFI Participant Webinar, hosted in April 2025. This year’s session delved into the exciting new projects being worked on by GENFI researchers, covering topics like brain neuroimaging, inflammation, and language changes. We also discussed the latest updates in clinical trials for genetic FTD and the global support resources available to patients and families.
Soon the full webinar and a summary of each talk will be available.
Dr Erin Drazich kicked off the webinar by discussing our new, portable MRI scanner.
Next, Rosie Coppieters discussed her PhD project looking at cross-linguistic patterns of speech and language changes in FTD.
Mahdie Soltaninejad gave our third talk, discussing how we can use brain imaging to track changes in disease.
Our next talk was provided by Dr Sergi Borrego who explained the pathogenic, clinical, and genetic heterogeneity observed across the FTD spectrum, and the genotype-phenotype pictures that emerge.
Next, Nikki Zimmermann discussed the global support groups available to families.
Our next talk was given by Sophie Farley who provided a rundown on the latest updates in genetic FTD clinical trials.
Our final talk was provided by Dr Maura Malpetti who discussed inflammation in FTD.
