GENFI has developed a cognitive composite that we hope will be helpful as an outcome measure in trials.
GENFI-Cog
GENFI-Cog consists of gene-specific composite neuropsychological batteries developed using empirical data from the GENFI study. The C9orf72, GRN and MAPT GENFI-Cog are outlined below:

The original publication outlining this work is here:
- Alzheimers Res Ther. 2022 Jan 19;14(1):10.
The tests within these batteries are from:
- The Color Word Interference Test (CWIT) from the Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System (D-KEFS)
- The Free and Cued Selective Reminding Test (FCSRT)
- The Benson Figure Copy and Recall task
- The Facial Emotion Recognition test (from the MINI-SEA)
- The Modified Camel and Cactus Test
- 30-item Boston Naming Test
- Trail Making Test
- Category fluency (number of animals named in 1 minute)
Further work by Victoria Pauwels-Romero from our team has shown that the GENFI-Cog tracks with disease severity – her poster on this work can be found here.
We are currently developing a training session for these composites – please email if you have further questions.
